Find Your GRIT and Never QUIT!!

I’d like to think that everyone has a visualization of what their life would look like if time or money was not an obstacle. What dreams would you have? Where would you travel? What would you own? How would you grow emotionally and how would you share?

For a few minutes imagine your dreams, small or gigantic, materialistic or emotional. Take the time give yourself the gift and imagine! Imagine what your life can be and then put your energy out to the universe with intention every day.

We are all on this life journey and in order to reach our dreams we need tools in our box. I was listening to a training video that spoke of a common denominator in successful people. That one common denominator in this particular study was pure Grit.

Yes pure and simple Grit, or as some would call it sticktoitivness!

Find your GRIT and never QUIT !!

If you ever think of quitting and giving up on your dreams ask yourself this.

Have you ever paused and reflected on your life and notice that there’s never one moment or one day where you feel like “you have arrived and that your dreams have been met?” The answer will be NO

There never will be that ONE moment or that ONE day. The magic of dreams coming to reality is like a slow step by step metamorphosis. Making your dreams come true is a series of events that happen in an order that create the life that you desire. You may have days when you think it’s not happening and you’re not getting any closer to your dreams, but little by little it is happening!!! Your dreams are only one step away, you just never know which step is the one that may be profound!

Find your dreams! Take the time to dream and then

FIND YOUR GRIT

AND NEVER QUIT!

Authenticity

Traveling through the woods, mindful of each step and listening to the sounds of nature playing like an orchestra.   The wind is weaving its way through the trees and the leaves are creating music.  The variety of birds are singing a melody that perhaps tell a story of their own and the rippling of water down the mountainside is a tune most enjoy.

All of these sounds of nature come together and flood my senses with the most spiritual piece of music ever played!  Nature has its own orchestra and we are blessed to have the ability to enjoy it every day.

All of this…. the visual beauty, the smell of nature, and the sounds of nature bring me to a deeper sense of spirituality and peace.  This is one of the places where I find and practice being AUTHENTIC.

How can you practice Authenticity?  You have to start listening to your heart and not your head!  It means listening to your gut and your instinct and not what your rational mind says.

“It’s the hardest journey and life lesson you’ll ever practice around the area of self growth.”

It is not something that you will learn and then have it mastered and be done learning.  It is something that will be of continuous practice throughout your life.  When you begin and consciously practice being Authentic daily, the results are pure bliss.

You can’t be authentic without knowing how to be mindfull! 

What is Mindfulness?

One definition of Mindfullness is a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations.

Another explanation of mindfullness I like is this:

Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention on the present.

When you’re mindful, you carefully observe your thoughts and feelings without judging them good or bad. Instead of letting your life pass you by, mindfulness means living in the moment and awakening to your current experience, rather than dwelling on the past or anticipating the future.

 

 

 

 

See the Flowers instead of the Rain

When the morning comes and the weather may not be exactly as you want it to be,  how do you view your world? How do you set the emotional tone for your day?

As I drove to work a few mornings ago the sun was shining bright, the sky was blue, and they were fluffy clouds scattered across the sky floating around.  I had uplifting music playing on my radio and my mood was one of extreme happiness! 😃

Then…. all of the sudden, the sun was gone…..the sky was overcast…. and for a moment my mood plummeted.

How could the weather change so quickly?  Why did my mood shift so easily along with it?  What could I do to get that feeling back again?

Well, the weather and view changed simply because there was an area of fog that had settled in a specific place along my drive. It was as simple as that.  However, during those few minutes of cloudiness I reflected on my reaction and pondered how we as human beings are so easily influenced by our external world.  How can one moment of fogginess (weather or life experiences) have such a strong influence over our feelings or mood?

Life itself can be like that cloudiness that settled in so suddenly!  One moment everything can be beautiful and happiness overwhelms you, then something can happen in your life that causes a shift.  Your mood can change in a heartbeat, and it can set the tone from that moment on.  How can you take control of those reactions?

What is Mindfullnes??

Merriam-Webster defines mindfulness as :

“the practice of maintaining a nonjudgmental state of heightened or complete awareness of one’s thoughts, emotions, or experiences on a moment-to-moment basis; also : such a state of awareness”

We all have the potential to harness how we react to our experiences.  We all have control over our perception of experiences, and we have control of our thoughts and emotions.  YOU and I can tap into and harness the power of our thoughts!

Jon Kabat-Zinn (1994) described mindfullness  “as paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment and non-judgementally”

 

Have you ever purposely practiced mindfulness? Would you practice it more if you believed it could change you life completely?  Everything we experience on a day-to-day basis can present opportunities for practicing mindfulness.

I CHALLENGE and DARE you to set a goal of practing mindfulness on a daily basis for 1 week and assess at the end of those 7 days.  How did mindfullness change your life?

*Tara Brach – Buddhist Teacher that has many podcasts “I love her voice” I search under my phone apps. and have found a wealth of resources by her.

*Eckhart Tolle – Author of a book “A New Earth”. I read this book years ago when it first came out.  Eckhart first introduced me to the depth of our ego and had specific practices that teach mindfulness.

*Wayne Dyer : Amazing mentor!! I have listened to many of his books, read articles,  receive his newsletter and listen to the podcasts he has authored.  One specific book he wrote I’d recommend is   “Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life”   He also filmed a movie titled “The Shift” SUCH  life altering lessons within this movie!! So good I purchased it. ❤

*Louise Hay – Founded the Hay House publishing company and website http://www.healyourlife.com   I can’t say enough about this woman! She was way ahead of her time in the 70’s.  Everything she has taught is finally being proven today with science!!!! OMG 😲 40 years later (my lifetime) and science is finally getting caught up to her thoughts and personal research.  I recommend you watch her movie  “You can Heal Your Life” I own two of these so I can share with others.

Life experiences are like the weather.  The sun can be shining down on you and everything is great in your life,  then at any given moment a cloud or even a full blown storm can move in and EVERYTHING  changes.

What matters most is what are you going to do when that cloud or storm moves in?, How are you going react? Can you take control of how you react by changing your thoughts?

Dancing Shadows

I saw a shadow dancing  to my left, and the sunset to my right.  A vast land laid out before me.  Colors of the landscape ever changing as the minutes pass.  One minute gone and the next not to be the same.   Endorphins surge through my bloodstream,  my senses are  heightened  and I see everything through eyes wide open and un-edited like a child.  Arms raised out-stretched to the sky,  and a message saying  “I am here! I am so happy to be alive,  and thank you to the universe.”

 

 

Life Lessons

Have you ever had a moment in your life where something shifts, you make a decision or change the way you think about something then a huge pivotal change comes from it?  Today something shifted within me that was powerful and I will not be the same person that I started out as this morning.

So a few days ago I was reading a self improvement book titled the “Go Giver” by Bob Burg and John David Mann and I came across a chapter that played a role in todays life lesson.  The chapter was titled “The Law of Authenticity” and the sub-heading read, “The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.”  I have offered myself to many people in this life and I have given unconditionally to thousands.  Today what I gave wasn’t enough and initially I had a hard time accepting that, but then I realized it wasn’t me or lack of what I gave.  It was more that we only have control over ourselves.  Our life is completely what we make it and believe it to be.  It wasn’t me that was a failure, it was a difference in perspective and the lack of knowledge and/or belief.   When I took the time to process this lesson and really come to some acceptance I realized the life lesson.  Giving of YOU is always enough, because you are the best that you can be where you are at in your life.

Go Confidently

I know who I am, and I know what things I enjoy and find pleaure in doing.  I’ll continue to do those things regardless of whether someone is with me or not.  I have had in the past a history of putting things off that I enjoyed because I wanted to wait until my partner and I could do things together.  I learned some hard lessons and lost a lot of time waiting.   In order to enjoy life fully, you can’t wait for that moment when you can finally do something with another person.  You CAN’T wait for their schedule to conincide with yours just so youre able to do a pleasurable activity together.  IF you wait, you may always be waiting and life is passing you by…………(long pause for thought).

If you hold yourself back from doing the things that you love while you’re waiting for that other person, then you are MISSING OUT ON LIFE.   Don’t hold back, don’t wait.  Stay  confident in the things you know you love and enjoy.   GO….get out there and do what you LOVE.  Become empowered by listening to your instinct!!  Trust your gut, it will always lead you down the right path.

Why do I Blog?

Dear readers this blog has been in my mind and in the making for many months.  I have finally found the confidence and empowered myself to SHARE with Passion.  This will be an accumulation of my thoughts, current and past.  Incoorperated into my blog will be pieces of knowledge I’ve gathered over the years from different authors, speakers, singers, etc.   This is very new to me and will be a learning process writing a blog, however I am confident in what I have to share.
